| I don't know what your problem is with System restore but I usually switch it off because it clutters disk space and slows down your PC, and when you have used it, it sometimes causes more stability issues than it was created to fix. So my general advice is not to use it at all |

| You may want to go here http://bertk.mvps.org/html/vista.html to get info about System Restore and hopefully solve your issue. If you don't use any other backup utility and don't have copies of your programs, I don't suggest turning System Restore off. I've used it and it has worked well, although I know some people have run into problems. I also use System Restore to create Restore Points before installing new programs or drivers so I'll have a way to undo the changes if something doesn't go right. By the way, turning System Restore off will delete all your restore points as well. |

| I do not recommend the TURN OFF of System Restore. There are several other programs which use it also... Quote:
1. Recommend you shut off all possible programs which might scan and cause a problem.. 2. try 1 restore point... if it gives you a ERROR. try to copy it down. 3. move back to restore point 2. and try that one...try pt 3 and if it fails. 4. I suggest you take the time to DEFRAG your HDD. after Defrag. shutdown-wait 3 min-restart. then try restore pt 1 - see if you get an ERROR if yes please copy error and let us know. Are all ERRORS the same? and exactly what is the ERROR...
