Whether or not your laptop has not slowed down, you can delete your hibernation file, set your power settings to best performance (even when on battery), enable "advanced performance" on your hard drive, and use ReadyBoost (but, don't bother unless you have a flash drive that is enhanced (or is it optimized?) for Vista). Doing these things may produce a noticeable difference. They are the only vista performance "tweaks" that I have any confidence in. At the extreme, you could set your laptop for maximum performance if you don't mind loosing a lot in the way of appearance.

| Try not using ReadyBoost. I know for a fact that ReadyBoost can sometimes slow things down.

| You can disable some Vista features using Programs and Features--which might contribute a tad to performance.

| Good luck. It is hard to speed Vista, or, for that matter, any OS, up appreciably without a hardware change.
