Lol, where there are freeware programs... free videos... patches... backups. For example, I bought Northern Strike on EA link, but it doesnt install correctly. So I used a torrent to grab it and now it works great

Yeah, my downloads grind to a halt, and the yellow triangle pops up in utorrent saying there's a problem with my network connection. My housemates have XP, utorrent tells them that their ports are not being forwarded, but they are still able to download torrents. For this reason, I'm not sure that it's a port issue. It's very bizzare, and like I said, confusing!

This is also why I think it's something to do with vista, not the uni network. None of us have much experience with vista so are wondering if something, somewhere, is set up wrong..!

I would go to the Power Options and make sure it isset to High performance. This should stop any issues with power down of the network card. Are there any other symptoms, like not being able to connect to websites? And do the downlaods start again if you just reopen utorrent?

Ok, will try that... No problems connecting to internet normally, if utorrent has been/is running then the connection is either v. slow or gives up completely. Once the torrents have ground to a halt, that's it, they won't start again.

Few minutes ago I got a message from my utorrent and there was written that new version is available and it has full support for Vista ... Maybe that new version will solve the problem.
