Two desktop icons have appeared. One saying "%userpro" and the other just says "Desktop" and I don't know where they have come from. When I go into my C drive and try to open My documents, I cannot do so and it comes up "Access denied" local settings, nethood, recent, cookies, printhood, sendto, start menu, and templates all have a little black arrow in a square box over the folder icon. Does anyone know whats going on? I have a Medion PC with Vista preinstalled and I have AVG 7.5 which says it is clean. Thank you all. |

| When did this happen? It sounds like Vista has b0rked. I would suggest using windows restore to go back to a time before it happened. That will be the easiest way to sort it. If you cant do that then post back and I will have a look around to try and find an answer. crabby |

Another question How many logins icons do you have... I hope 2 One for Administrator and one for common user... If yes, change the common user (you) to also be Admin. or simply remove the you and login all the time as Admin... (you need access is due to te system being setup by ADMIN and unless your ADMIN you need to give access rights.) SOUNDS LIKE YOU INSTALL OF VISTA WAS BORKED... or you visited some site and followed there instructions, and BORKED the setting... A RESTORE back to prior to this setting is NEEDED... I hope also that the instructions your followed was not one of those. DISABLE RESTORE.. DISABLE UAC If you do not have RESTORE then use the RESTORE DISK sent by your manufacture or follow there instructions on HOW to RESTORE VIA THE RESTORE PARTITION THESE OTHER sites also recommend and 1st thing they do is have (user) remove UAC.. which allows system to be HACKED and BOT NETTED..
