I have 3-5 bluescreens per day. Usualy bluescreen comes with using of games such as UT2004, X3 Reunion, EVE Online and with different applications (mostly with WMP). There is no any message, simply blue screen and restart. My system: Vista Ultimate Asus P4P800 (Intel 865PE), latest BIOS 1021.006 (beta) 2x512Mb RAM (placed in slots 1 and 3 (or it is better to change slot 3 to slot 2?)) Ati Radeon 9600 (Series) with the latest drivers Thank you in advance for any help. The source of the problem may be common with other problem of mine: http://www.vistababble.com/forums/vi...html#post16133 Last edited by stl_v : 07-12-2007 at 12:42 AM. |

| 1st question - Quote:
2nd question - do you have the Vista (UT-2004) patch installed... If NO then advise you DL and install the Vista Patch. 3rd question - have you upgraded all other games to be Vista compatible. Please let us know by posting back. Thanks Snuffy

| Thanks, I'll try to change third slot to second. (That was just strange advice of a man to put memory in slots 1 & 3...) All my games have their latest versions of patches, updates and other things. upgraded to be Vista compatible? Don't really understand. You mean latest patches, updates and compatibility mode? |

and patches to make your games Vista ready... or compatibile .. make sure if you did patch them... that you removed the x Run in XP compatible mode. Yes, I have found that lots of time folks fail to remove the Run in XP Mode.. Quote:
WMP which version are you using? I have never had WMP give me a BSOD, but have it fail to find and/or play a file... and usually is not very precise... what most repair stations want is : 1. exactly what are you doing when you get the BSOD... 2. What exactly is the first thing you see when you GET the BSOD... the BSOD has lots of info there... unless you have modified some settings... If you have modified the setting and do not remember what you did or how to remove. 3. REPAIR by REINSTALLING Vista...using the UPGRADE function. 4. DO NOT APPLY ANY 3RD PARTY CRACKS, OR MODS. Reason not to apply these cracks or mods. they do not allow repair techs to have full access to "why your system failed" The BSOD gives you the reason. 5. IF YOUR USEING A BETA BIOS - by all means STOP.. and re flash with a STABLE Version The upgrade Beta version for extreme overclocking is not recommended. and should be instantly removed... extreme overclocking of Vista and ASUS Mobos is not recommended.

| The majority of my games will not run without compatibility mode and there is no any updates specially for Vista. BlueScreen happens randomly. I did not modified registry or any important files. All my programs and OS have their latest versions and updates (including Windows Media Player). My system is not overclocked. I will try to reflash with a stable version of BIOS. |
