The problem: A few days ago I hooked up a router so my roommate could use the net. At that point vista stopped being able to connect to the internet. It either says that it has little/no connectivity, or that the ip adderess is wrong. My computer can access the router itself fine, and the router can access the outside world (i can have it ping things through the internet control panel). But I can't seem to get them to work in tandem. I have a dual boot system, and when I load up XP the internet works fine. Another interesting thing to note is that vista detects two different networks as being connected, where there should only be one. What I've tried: Renewing the ip address both through the network places, and via the command prompt. Renewing the connection via the network places. Rebooting the modem, router, and computer. I'm using a Dynex Dn-e401 router on a computer running windows vista ultimate x64. I'm wondering if this is a compatibility issue or something. Anyone have any suggestions on what may fix it? Thanks for you time, --Paolo |

| Had you tried reseting the router to factory defaults and then running the setup as described on the Installation Guide? There should be a small hole to reset it, see the manual. Also, I think your product is a DX-E401 and not a DN-E401. http://www.dynexproducts.com/pc-488-...nd-router.aspx
