Vista install problem

I am trying to upgrade my XP home to vista with Vista Home premium upgrade. The install process goes well until the very end when it is restarting to complete the install. Before it hit the welcome screen it reboots, again, and again. Each time a screen comes up saying shutdown error...Any Suggestions?

felix8406 will become famous soon enough

Try this: Boot up to the Vista DVD > Select Language > Select Repair your computer > Select the Vista installation you want to repair and click Next > Follow instructions

Clean Install!

I would suggest you do a clean install and not the upgrade. It seems people have a lot of problems when trying to upgrade, but if you do, make sure you disconnect things like your internet connection/printer etc until the install is complete! they can interfere with the process, but you could also have a hardware conflict, so take out your graphics or sound card etc and try again.

Good Luck!

I had NO PROBLEMS with my upgrade from XP Home to Vista Home Premium.
But I did run Vista Upgrade advisor, and I did remove every program which was recommended, and every program they said MIGHT have a problem. I also had every Vista Driver for all Devices as suggested. When ask I pointed to the correct point and installed Vista Drivers. I then went to the manufacture and obtained if available (Vista upgrades for other program's). Also you should visit the HCL site and see if your device is Vista Compatible or Works in Vista. Works in Vista normally have many problems. and I recommend you not use it.
