I tryed to install Java 6 for Vista from Sun in Vista Home Premium this morning and it would not allow it; popped up a window saying "Not a valid win 32 application" Ideas any one?

That's odd because Java 6 is supposed to be Vista compatible. I've been using it without any problems. Did you downloaded and saved it to your hard drive or tried installing it from the Internet? You may try downloading it and run it as Win XP compatible. Right click the file > Properties > Compatibility tab > choose Win XP SP2

Chatting with Vista

Being new to here and Vista, does this upgrade allow your Chat to function once installed? I have a new PC with Vista and there's a BB that looks similar to this and we have weekly chat sessions. However, this is the only feature that doesn't seem to work for me at this time. When I launch the session, Initially the Java screen pops up and looks like it's loading, next screen opens and says it's Connecting throught the port....... And that's as far as I get.

Wasn't sure where to start and didn't want to start screwing up the configuration until I did some research. Sounds like I'll need to hit a site and update my Java already. Thanks for any assistance. Can't wait to get this issue resolved.

The issue doesnt sound like a Java problem... it looks like a blocked port... check your firewall or router settings
