vista netgear crash

i have a wg311t card and a wgt624 v2 router, I can surf just fine until i put on a large load to my network, after thet i get booted and have to reboot my rounter to get internet back up i think its my drivers but its the only one i could find that would work. when i auto detect my network it shows me an exellent signal streagth but when i connect my streagth goes down to just fare, it also tells me i am connecting at 54mps but when i ran a speed test my dl speed was between 750 and 950 kbps are there drivers out there or am i just gonna have to wall jack for now?

ps... i just looked up my network card and i am using atheros ar5004g drivers

There's the problem. I have 4 of the WG311T cards and a WG824 extended range router. The router is still running with our webcams, but the adapters are all in my desk drawer. I had problems all over the place with temporary freezes for up to 2 minutes to outright network death 'til reboot and that was in XP with the firmware and drivers all updated. If Netgear can't get the drivers right for an OS that's been out for 5+ years, I wouldn't put too much faith in drivers for a new one.

Good luck!

Netgear are a very annoying company because they don't produce drivers for anything but the tried and tested operating systems (ie... xp) but even then they seem to have many problems. The driver that you declared (atheros ar5004g ) is the correct driver for that card. To my knowledge the latest driver was released at the very end of last year, so grab it if you haven't got it

So far as to say, you will get no help from netgear for about 1 year... so I would 'jack up' for the moment! Wireless is screwy anyway
