Vista and Outlook 2003

I installed Vista and continuted to use my Office 2003.

I was having problems with my wireless disconnecting from the WAN and internet without any notice. I kept having to restart my machine throughout the day and evening. Some times, I could go for an hour or 2 before it disconnected.

After several days (I have ONLY had Vista for about 2 weeks now) I noticed that I was ONLY being disconnected if OUTLOOK was up and running. I would keep my OUTLOOK open all the time.

I worked and worked at it. I even left posts here and other places seeking answers for this problem. I thought it was a Lynksys connection problem and just couldn't figure this out.

After thinking about this ALL the time, I decided to buy OFFICE 2007. Since installing OFFICE 2007 and OUTLOOK, I no longer have this connection problem.

Since I live in the good ole USA, and have been brought up on consipricies etc... LOL . I'm wondering if this is one way that Microsoft uses to get us to buy more Microsoft "STUFF." This sure was an expensive fix.

Heh, I'm always up for a good conspiracy theory (looking around for my tinfoil hat right now), but my guess is that in your case it was an actual bug rather than a "feature". I probably would have tried a free email client first, just to see if that did the trick.
