| this is normal when installing Updates, it can take a while becuse Windows configures the updates before it shuts down. Like you said it will shut down manualy so just leave it on and see if it shuts down.

| I'm with Tony, leave it alone and it will shutdown eventually; it might take a little while though. Once it shutdown, it should go back to shutting down normally. If you still have issues, post back and we'll sure guide you in the right track. |

my laptop took enough time it totally ran the battery down.. I then had to plug in the charger unit, wait for about 30 min... then turn on which allowd the installs to complete and config... total time ( estimated to be just over 1 hr.) During Beta test many times too many upgrades at one time caused a problem and many times you had to (delete several like 4 or 5) then allow the rest to install, reboot and configure then manually check for upgrades.. I have found that I can do as many as 15 with no problems .. over 15 many times one upgrade needs to consolidate and finished before the other upgrade can be done... Not sure I explained that correctly. but sample. is #17 also effects the way at #6 works... or is a patch for it... so if #6 has not been completed, then #17 will never finish - because it can not find the required file it needs.. Maybe Ant or Crabby and explain better.... (this is also why different times - your upgrades show complete. but it still trys to dl and install the same item...) to fix is remove the corrupt one reboot and then dl and install again. DOH... I hope this helps. Thanks guys. for understanding and assisting with the WHY ?
