| There is a horrible way to set the speaker config in basic. How brave are you with API's and registry hacks? ![]() I also believe there is an AC'97 control panel with the new driver which can alter and automatically detect the speaker setup. crabby |

| After trying several things to no avail the conclusion was reached that there was something not right about the Vista software Home Basic. I downloaded and installed a copy of VLC Player. I now have video and sound on DVD's. Problem solved!! |
