Vista is always running this "configuration" thing which says "please wait whilst vista configures Acrobat (or Office, etc.)" nearly everytime I launch a new program, a new tab in IE, send or receive an email. Is there any way of fixing this? Also, when it runs this configuration, it comes back and tells me that it cannot register fonts, the system does not support it or not enought permissions apply - I have to hit ignore about 12 times to move through this. Since it's happening about 30 times per day it's frustrating! Any ideas? |

| Do you have the Vista DVD? If that's so, boot to the DVD and choose a Startup Repair. You'll find the instructions by going to Start > Help and Support > Type Repair If that doesn't work you can use the DVD to run setup and upgrade your current installation. This will repair any problems your current installation may have. I had tried it at least four times and everything has gone well, but it's not a guarantee. Make sure to select Upgrade. You'll need to enter the Vista ID during installation. |

| You must have someway of reinstalling the system? If not, then if this problem didnt persist from the word go, try using the system restore utility and choose the earliest restore point you can. crabby |

| Try Crabby's suggestion...using System Restore. You may also try contacting your PC manufacture and ask them for a copy of Vista...you may have to pay a few dollars, but it's worth to have the DVD around just in case. I did that with Dell, but for Win XP, and they send me not just the Win XP CD, but other CDs as well; drivers and all the software that came with the PC. I paid $10.00 for shipping and handling. Another thing you can do is: Go to Control Panel > Choose the Classic View > Click Problem Reports and Solutions > Click on any of the "Problems windows have identified" > Now copy the "Problem Signature" (e.g. 80070643) and paste it to Google > Do a Google search and see if there has been a solution already posted. |

suggest 1. uninstall Acrobat (full removal) shut down for about 3 minutes... then restart, reinstall Acrobat, reboot and then LET ACROBAT DO A COMPLETE CONFIGURE... PITA but it needs to be done... Acrobat is the problem not VISTA... actually it is Acrobat that is changing the configuration of Vista...
