Have you SHUT DOWN and waited for 3 min prior to restart? What you might try is hide the upgrades that will not install... that way you will not constantly be bombarded with the updates... If and when MS autoupdates are rescanned, which they will if you allow by checking allow updates to be DL and installed... and if the wuas decides you need them. Not every updates is needed and not every updates works on all machines due to (unk) reasons - know to MS but not us normal folks. (The normal reason for updates not installing is due to a DRIVER or other related program which for some reason will not allow the update to function correctly...) sample: one update is in reference to a VIDEO/Game program.. for some reason your program will not allow the update to work ... you have the options A. REPAIR the program and try the update again, maybe it will work B. REMOVE the program completely - Update not needed C. Hide the upgrade so as not be bothered with it... D. Remove the program - shutdown wait 3 min -removes all reference from MEMORY. Reinstall the program and then check to see if the update will work. If you rec NO to A. B. D. then use C. If you have any patches installed for the program from the manufacture, this can also be why the MS AU fails... My ISP was the problem with Ultimate Extra's. untill the ISP fixed a bad server relay... I was constantly rec'g a BAD DL...I fixed and proved to a ISP tech, but showing him it failed 3 times over his ISP... I then disabled his modem, fired the 56KB wire modem, and DL and installed the program... He later verified yes they had a SERVER HDD problem at the tower... he then switched me to another spot... and NO more DL problems (currently).
