I used 800 X whatever it turned out to be. I don't think that a tiny bit more cropping would have made a significant difference. But, like I said, whatever.

More importantly, how do you know the attempted change was from MS? I am registry-matters challenged.

Hmm...well, on second thought, I guess I'm not positive about it. I was basing it on the key it was putting it in, but I suppose that's not fool-proof. Of course, it was late, and I was tired, so I'll use that as my excuse.

Thanks. If MS was changing it, then would MS be sending something via the internet or would the change, when needed, somehow be build into Vista? I'm pretty much clueless here.

Ok, did some research on this. That turns off Windows built-in cd burning capabilities, and is probably caused by whatever third party CD creation software you installed, such as CD Creator or Nero, because the built-in one can get in the way of the third-party app.

Posting images

If you need to post images that are larger, there's always services like ImageShack, Photobucket, and even Shutterfly that offer free image hosting. Just post the link to the image and you can use your image as is. Also, if you don't have photo editing software, ImageShack has an online tool to resize images. I also like www.resize2mail.com. It's fast and easy, especially if you're traveling or just have a small job to do.

Thanks much ul:

I use Photoshop and can host pics myself. It's just a bit too much trouble to do so for a one-time image posting.

Good thought dazzlin. iTunes is set as my default music player. Maybe iTunes is doing it, but Windows Media Player (WMP) also is enabled. So, I am wondering if iTunes could beat up Windows to the point where WMP isn't allowed to burn CD's. I sort of doubt it. Bill doesn't give up easily when it comes to Apple--well except trying to catch up when it comes to operating systems. Thanks much for your thoughtful help.

HaHa. Nope, crabby, you are not off the hook on the sleep issue. Otherwise, your batting average may slip to below 600.

Drivers... drivers... drivers... drivers?

Both video and sound drivers can cause windows sleep issues. What does your performance and ratings tools window say about it?
