Hi there. Just got a brand new Dell Inspiron 1705 with dual core 1.7, 1gb ram, 120gb hdd. I am having a very tough time with vista. I find the web browsing EXTREMELY frustrating, to the point of unworkable. I cannot a lot of the sites, and the site I CAN access - it is slow to the point of ridiculous. Am I doing something wrong? I hope you good people can help me before I ship this thing back and ask them to put XP back on. Edited to add that I am getting 100mbs just like my desktop, so the connection is fine. Plus it's fine when I browse "big" sites like ESPN, or NEW YORK TIMES. But the rest - very very painfully slow. THanks. Last edited by mfoxm : 03-31-2007 at 05:09 PM. |

| Hi there! The problem is most likely an issue with the phishing filter. You can turn it off in IE by pressing Alt -> Tools -> Phishing Filter -> Turn off automatic website checking. They did update it because of these issues so check windows updates. If there are no updates there was also an issue with that so disable the automatic updates and check yourself just incase crabby |

| It could also be related to your TCP autotuning level. See this tip for a full explaination: http://itsvista.com/2007/02/itsvista...slow-in-vista/ |
