Why is it that most people who have a problem with Vista run AMD? Just wondering... I started to notice this more and more on different forums.

I run a 3500+ AMD processor... I have NEVER had an issue I have been unable to solve. Honestly, when it comes down to problems people are just lazy and don't bother trying to fix it properly. A year of linux and you will realise all windows problems are trivial!

I am amazed at how many people say they have had problems with Raptors, 64-bit systems, etc., etc. RAIDs may be a different issue.

I do miss my HP programs and Nokia PC Suite (I have it installed but it doesn't work right) but I am going to tough it out. They should be coming out with Vista compatible programs in the next couple of months.

Many ppl simply can not or will not upgrade to Vista Compatible Programs.
Nero 6 to Nero 7 cost money, but Nero 6 causes all sort of problems..
EZDVD is the same, and I always hear .. I'm legal with Vista, and NO, I will not UPGRADE xxxx program or memory ... sounds funny every body is LEGAL with Vista Ultimate and do not have enough money for Video Cards, Memory or the Correct Vista Compatible Program... never run the Vistaupgrade advisor, install the Biggest Version of Vista and have the least capable system. sample: specs say OK for Vista Basic..they install Ultimate, and complain XP ran perfect and Vista is so slow...crap. yet the Video card is not AERO compliant, memory is sub XP at 512mb pc100/pc133..or best at 1GB.
The difference in 1GB to 2GB is twice the speed on PassMark tests.
Here both of us are Retired, Medical problems, and Yes, I started saving for Vista and upgrades, about 2 yrs ago...(seems I have had 5 yrs to save)..

Answer: More ppl use AMD than Intel.

I finally took the plunge & CLEAN Install of VISTA...the upgrade from XP to Vista on the 30G HD.. had to go... the New SATA 2 80GB 7200 is doing OK.
Believe me in the beginning I hated Vista in the BETA days... more problems than I ever had with XP Beta...(that is why I started saving $$$$$).

for another 4 or 5 yrs.. If your a student or live at home and Mom & Dad say NO ... I can understand... other wise

I too am disabled and have played with Vista beta sinbce Nov last year dual booting with XP and at first I had to upgrade the video card my 9200 ATI just didn't cut it it worked but no well, and this was every version of the beta I would do a clean install from within XP, must of did 7 or 8 installs from Premium to Ultimate and finally got my free copy of Business and I love it, Cost so far has been about with software and hardware about between 280.00 to 350.00 when all is said and done, but I have a system that is very stable and can do what ever I did with XP with the new Business Vista . I could see were some people just go blindly into Vista and have a bad time with it, and I think some of the problem is MS not letting 3rd party apps get the info they need to make drivers and software compatable with Vista.

If you are having problems with Nokia PC suite then download the latest version from the Nokia website, I had problems with an older version of PC suite and it went away when I updated it.
