Thumbs down Wireless Printer

Has anybody had a problem with communication problems dropping out with vista and wireless printers.
After the initial set up is configured the printer works fine. Until Vista is restarted.
This has happened with several machines with different wireless printers.
The problem seems to be Vista not keeping the port settings.
Would appreciate if anyone has come across this and have a fix.

Have you checkd to see if there are any FORCED ports involved.

Not sure I understand all the comments. It sounds like you have many computers and many wireless printers, all working at the same time. would like to know what computer by name some specs for it, and what printers and what wireless adapter are you using... sort of like
Most HP devices do not work well in Dell computers, and Sony uses a totally different setting. Please be more specific - Thanks

Sorry for the missleading info.
These have been set up for several clients... each client has one wireless printer which range from a Lexmark, HP's. The HP's claim to be Vista Compatible.
I have checked the ports before & after and see no change, however on one instance after the printer lost the connection after reboot, I deleted the port and recreated it & was able to print. (until next reboot)
Some clients have XP & Vista with no problem with XP.
I am waiting for a reply from Microsoft but don't hold much hope.

Wireless is haveing GROWING PAINS. Its the Drivers.

After doing much reading on the Wireless printer(s), not to mention the names but many different ones. Some do not work at all, even in the store where you buy them, so work part of the time, and some (seem to shut off) after a period of time (reboot required to restart device)... No apparent reason, and no apparent fix. other than setting a (port switch to refresh them). HP 5850 Wireless seemed to be the most notorious for failures (one store could not get any to work on any of there computers.) Many people ask if the HP Wireless is Wireless why does HP send a serial cable with it .. Blue tooth has major problems with drivers.
the best blue tooth driver for Vista is Toshiba's ( it made all my blue tooth devices work. regardless of manufacture.)
(This is not a recommendation - One store manager told customer - I have a Brothers MFC Wireless which works GREAT - No we do not sell them here.)

The notebooks (the Dell Inspiron 1720 and Lenovo ThinkPad T61 and T62p), wireless hubs, and wireless USB adapters from D-Link and IOGear are the first products to receive Wireless USB Certification from the USB Implementers Forum. They're expected to ship in time for back-to-school and holiday-season purchases.

Thanks for the info Snuffy.
I was led towards the printer drivers being a problem, until setting up a standard printer through a router / printer port.
The printer works fine on XP which indicates the router is compatible with the printer. The printer works fine when attached by usb to the Laptop, which indicates the drivers are Ok.
When attached through the router / printer port the same thing happens as all the others.... works OK until reboot.
This led me to think whether Vista had a wireless communication problem for printer ports.
