| My HP Pavilion tx1000 with Windows Vista Home premium started acting strangely after the Adobe acrobat reader 8.1.2 update. The sidebar is not showing any gadgets (or it looks like it has some display problems only in the sidebar!!). The most important problem is - the HP wireless assistant is missing, and when i try to open it - it just shows a blank window! |

| Try a system restore back to a point before the problems began.

| Thanks Znod, i tried system restore - and im sure kaspersky s the culprit. I uninstalled Kaspersky AV (which was interuppted asking for admin rights) before the system restore, and when i restored the system to a previous date, KAV was back with all its folders! I uninstalled KAV completely again, and the system restore got back the uninstalled program. I dont understand how the system restore was able to bring back the whole uninstalled program! Now KAV is in my system asking for the activation code whenever i do a restart. The sidebar and WMP are back to normal. But there's no wireless assistant even after the restore (do i have to install any drivers?). Are there ways to completely (without any traces!) uninstall KAV ? |
