Question WLM is not for Vista

Quote:
Hello Frank, (actually Snuffy)

Thank you for writing to Windows Live Mail Desktop Technical Support. My name is Cris, and I understand that you have issues synchronizing e-mail messages in your s0121@hotmail.com account in Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta. I understand how important it is for you to resolve this matter and I am glad to be of assistance.

Frank, I have checked your s0121@hotmail.com account and verified that you are using a Windows Vista operating system accessing it.

I would like to inform you that Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta is currently not supported by Windows Vista.

In the meantime, I would advice that you watch for further updates to our software as the release date for Windows Vista gets closer in order to get a version that will properly function within Windows Vista.

Due to numerous updates to both the Vista program and Live Desktop, there will be some issues along the way, which our product team would work towards resolving as soon as possible.

We appreciate your feedback and patience as we make further updates with our product in regards to its compatibility with Windows Vista.

You are valuable at Windows Live, and we look forward to providing you with consistent and effective service. We appreciate your input and involvement in our Windows Live products.

Sincerely,
Cris
Windows Live Mail Desktop Technical Support

I removed many extra spaces.....but you get the drift....

What exactly this statement means? "I would like to inform you that Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta is currently not supported by Windows Vista." Does it mean that there's no support for Live Mail Desktop Beta if you are using it with Vista, or that Vista cannot run it? I've been using it for quite some time, with RC2 and RTM and it has and it's currently working. I did had an issue about three weeks ago and I wrote to customer support and no one mentioned anything about not being supported in Vista. They told me to uninstall it and reinstall the new updated version.

I download the current build of WLM and installed it on Vista Ultimate and XP both because I was having the same problem with hotmail and after install problem solved don't forget and uninstall the previous version of WLMDB version 8.0.1223 is the latest one and it works pretty good so far

The one issue I have with WLMD is that there's no option to leave a copy of a hotmail email on the server. I wrote and provided this suggestion to their support personnel on more than one occasion, but so far I have not seem that option being established.

Question That means I am a "Pirate" using illegally

This means If I want to continue to use it on Vista I will have problems.. (The FIX) use "programs and features" and remove WLM, totally, reboot, reinstall which ever version you have or can find.. (my problems went away.) and yes I'm using the same program on XP SP2 and NO problems..
" I was ask ? If I had any relation who were "Pirates" NO, but Bank Robbers - Yes, the James's and the Dalton's." and rumors Good King sent my relation over to America, "Capt John Smith" was a Highwayman in jolly ol England..back in late 1480's

What to use for Default mail program?

So if Vista isn't for WLM, what can we use for a default mail program.

WLMail is Vista READY. during BETA test is was not 100% fully compatible and had many problems. That is why we have BETA TEST..
Windows Live Mail is Vista enabled/working/compatible. Please notice the dates on the original posts... they were back in Jan 07, prior to Vista being Full Release.
