Here's the problem I'm having. After installing the new vista Active Sync or Windows Mobile Center as it is now being called. It installs via the download updates but always hangs fir long time but then finishes. After reboot I get the wmdsync.exe unable to locate componet RAPI.dll failed to start. I can not find any support on it. It would be nice to get my Ipaq synced again. Thanks |

Ok here is what did so far, I copied the RAPI.dll from my other laptop running XP Pro in to the system32 dir and I got a second dll missing so I copied that one too. Now the moble softweare starts up without error. Vist does see the IPAQ but I still can't get the sync to happen ...yet. It's ok though I haven't given up just yet I'll figure it out and post back but if anyone does have a tip that would be great. |

Having same problem with wndsync.exe. Tried to find rapi.dll on my laptop running windows XP pro so i could execute similar fix to coolzero. Could only find mprapi.dll. Is this the same, and if not, where can i get the proper file. Also found same program already on my vista computer. Regards vctcv |

| Exactly the same thing happened to me. But, I decided not to seek out the second file. I had been down similar paths where I was asked for one file after another on and on and on. Maybe I'll go back and try again now with your new info--that only two files will be ask for total. Do you recall the name of the second file?

| vctvc: No, the two files are not the same.

| Thanks much. Actually, last night, my Pharos 525 and 5472 started communicating via both the Sync Center and the Windows Mobile Device Center. Everything works just right except that I can't yet sync with Outlook. I am even having trouble remembering the scenario where I was ask for the two files. I'll post back if I solve the final problem.
