| I was just looking for some answers to AntiVirus software myself and was pointed to this Forum. It seems for the Beta 2 of Vista Windows are actively promoting Trend see here. I'm going to try it now and let you know how I get on. Never actually used this product before - so fingers crossed. |

| I use Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition. There is a specific version that supports vista so you have to login to download it, I haven't had the time so I'm using Computer Associates version they have specifically for vista beta users and they give you a full year subscription which is about the time the time bomb on vista beta 2 lasts anyway. If you want antivirus from MS it is not included you have to get the windowslive one care thing that is like $50 for the subscription? something like that. |

| I checked Avast out. Is there any way to get Avast really free--that is, without buying music downloads too? I'd gladly pay a few $ per mo. to have Avast, but is doing so really necessary. The last thing I need is another music download service.

| I didn't have any problem downloading it for free without any extras from here.

| I managed to successfully install and run Avast on my Vista. My only nagging worry is that I can find no respectable firewall that functions (or even installs, for that matter) I refuse to allow any so called M$ Firewall to secure my machine as it by default allows anything M$ to phone home. As for Norton, well I refuse point blank to repair customers computers if that rubbish is even installed..... they're getting the message slowly! |
