I don't like AOL for two reasons.

First, the tried to steal my money by switching my unlimited to pay-by-the-minute. Like I would fall asleep with computer still on if I knew I was paying by the minute. Then, they just wanted to offer my Free months instead of a refund. How are the months free if you just took over $100 from my account.

Second, when my computer slowed down, I removed all of the aol crap that I could find and my computer started running faster immediately.

Is there an I hate AOL club, yet?

Granted I too am not a big fan of AOL, however, I once was a beta tester for them. If your trying to get a version that works with vista, you can try to see if AOL is working on one at Keyword BETA on AOL.

I too am hating AOL, I have notice that on a lot of computers I work on that AOL is one of the biggest problems just WAYYYY too much bloatware, the other thing is I have noticed that somepeople would update to the newest version of AOL and if you go to the unistall panal there like 5 different versions and 3 of the same (like 9.0(a), 9.0(b)) its sickening.... Anyway I'm having an issue with Vista and AOL 9.0 not playing nice together...

Seems like Vista keeps trying to close AOL down (security problem?) I have not seen the actual problem but my brother just called me about it

AOL A Reality Nightmare

or..(A)-An-(O) Overloaded-(L) Lard-ass. I do a lot of computer system rebuilds, and repairs for my customers, and one rule is NOT to guarantee any system the Customer insists I put AOL on, or they decide to use it against my advise. Of course the fools keep ignoring me, and I keep making money off them, so t's mutual trade to mutual advantage. The advantage being mine. What's wrong with it...it's a rip-off like old Comp-U-Serve was.

If you realy realy must use AOL on vista there is a BETA version called AOL 9.5 in the UK and AOL Security Edition in the US

AOL definitely used to be incompatible with Vista, and I think the same remains true of RC1. In other words, AOL is AWOL in Vista. AOL came installed on my Dell laptop. I successfully uninstalled it, but I also never used it (and never have and never would). But, if one likes it, then that's AOK with me. Use AOL, and be happy. It may suit you to ATEE.

Anthony, I thought you could get out of the contract a few months back once AOL went for free accoutns. My understanding was that current high speed AOL members (not dial-up)could call and get AOL free of charge or cancel it all together.
