Auslogics Reg Defrag

License:Free
Requirements: Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista Date Added:June 19, 2007 Publisher's description of Auslogics Registry Defrag
Publisher's description of Auslogics Registry Defrag
1of 3 From AusLogics:
Microsoft Windows and various programs access the registry a few hundred times a second. Therefore a fragmented registry is one of the major reasons why your computer may be so slow. Auslogics Registry Defrag can significantly speed up your computer by helping you defragment registry, remove gaps and make it contiguous, smaller and faster to access.

Version 4.0.4 improved user's interface, added Windows Vista support, and application start and exit speed improved up to 200%.

Good stuff

I have tried to use registry booster, but on a clean Vista install it found over 80000 problems so I don;t quite think it;s working

NB: I found the issue and apparantly it is quite universal for registry cleaners. Bascially the cleaner will loop around wow6432node.

Here is a link to a fix:

Simple fix, works perfectly!

Never had that problem but them I'm running the 32Bit version..
I think on a Clean install with the two REG Cleaners that I use all the time there is about 3400 errors.
I use REGCURE, Reg Vac and VistaManager for the Registry cleaning... and all three are very close to the same amount... found. I have never had any problems after running them. After running Reg Defrag which seems to work by compressing the registery and taking spaces out... there is about 3 to 5 secs shaved of reboot and boot start time ... so testing 2 of 3 Auslogic programs 1. Disk Defrag 2. Reg Defrag they do seem to work pretty good..and I have seen/had no problems with them Vista Ultimate 32Bit.

You are correct Snuffy, this issue is only for 64bit Vista. Before I removed the offending key the cleaner would scan perpetually until the keys were too long. This took it 16 hours and 125000 errors!

Once I removed the key the scan took around 5 minutes and had 250 errors.

Sometimes I wonder about these applications. I ran Auslogics Registry Defrag and it indicated it has 527 errors, of course it's the free version and can only fix 20 of them. I then ran registry mechanic and found 97...not even closed to the 527.

I saw a thing on TV once, Felix it will COME UP with 527 errors but its a maketing gimmick hence why you get diff results. I bet if you took the time to check them one by one you would find most of them to be fine.

I agree. That's why it pays to try different software. I know the reg can get congested, specially when installing and uninstalling software, but trial software can be deceiving at best.

The difference in Reg Mechanic is a REG Cleaner - removes only bad links
Ref Defrag removes bad links and also removes many blank spots and lines to shorted the REG File... which makes it read faster - the difference in the amt of noted ERRORS....
Reg Mechanic , you really do not need to REBOOT...
Auslogic Reg Defrag, you really should reboot after running....

Running the full version of Auslogics, and boot time is avg 4 to 5 s faster after running... what I do is using stop watch click Restart before I run Auslogics REG DEFRAG.... then rerun after the full version.. the least I found was 3s the most is 6s... with avg of 4s to 5s...
