batch programs run from command prompt

Will Vista run batch programs run from a 'command prompt' like XP allows? Thanks in advance,

Redd

Reddmessage, glad you found help here; Jay has offer some excellent information.

I have a general question to everyone; how long will it be before MS drops its DOS look alike option from an OS? Will it happen with longhorn?

There will always be a text prompt You simply cant have a button for everything At least, that's what I hope anyway... there's something satisfying when you mezmorise a mate with your keen command skills

They better never get rid of the command line. I can run custom scripts that do a lot of things that way that would take me hours to do another way. Plus I can have more control by using switches that are not offered in a GUI. Granted, the home user doesn't need it as much. But you can repair the network stack from the command line to troubleshoot network connection issues. With businesses, I can automate a lot of tasks that I would have trouble doing otherwise. It is there for a reason.

Every OS has a command prompt (shell).

Send a message via MSN to Snuffy

I recommend : start --> type " cmd " then right click and run as admin
then run your batch file(s).
