Go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER FOLDER\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\ and copy Outlook.pst This is the file that contains all that required info. Office 2007 uses the same folder. After installing 2007, run outlook, tell it not to create an email address etc, close it when setup and overwrite the outlook.pst that 2007 had created.Having said that if you have installed 2007 already and have been using outlook then you have overwritten all the files. Maybe load a ghost if you have one and retrieve it. Last edited by ants : 02-04-2007 at 04:18 AM. |

| And, if you simply export them, then they will be exported as backup.pst.

| Hmmm interesting observation with Outlook 2007 when its running in vista. It holds the emails messages that I have received and sent and extra folders I have created but fails to keep the email addresses I setup (All 15 of them). Maybe I have to backup the whole folder as there are some new files in the folder I pointed to above that I don't recognise. Interesting that a lot of applications I have used many times in XP are installing diferently and run with different tasks/setups in Vista

| I have not run Outlook 2007 either on Vista or XP, but isn't there an option to backup all your data, including email addresses? That's an important option, especially when working in a business environment.

| Hi felix. Not sure mate will work on that this afternoon. I was just so used to automatically backing up the outlook.pst file it was so easy. Office 2003 had a settings wizard that would do all settings/preferences EVERYTHING all at once. The same application for 2007 isnt yet completed. It was nice to just run it and have Outlook?word/excell etc. look exactly the same after the first run on a setup without having to change a thing. I will add that if this is my biggest problem I would guess I am laughing hehehehe Time for toast!

| Can you point Outlook to save all data to a different partition? Like the Document folder for example, where you can change where the files are stored; whether it be to another partition/hard drive or to a network PC. This is a nice option because if something happens to your OS where one has to reinstall it, the data will be safe.
