problem downloading adobe flash player

Hello, I have Windows Vista, have administrative privileges, and have tried numerous times to install Adobe flash player without luck. I have followed all suggestions including dowloading recommended zip file (is apparently not the latest version and system does not allow me to install); disabling firewall, allowing popups, enabling all active x controls, and then trying to install. Does anyone know how I might be able to install this. Thanks. Susan

Smile Flash for Vista is different

If your using Vista, the Flash player for Vista is different than for XP... ask for the Vista Flashplayer.

Adobe - Adobe Flash PlayerMicrosoft Vista is incompatible with the currently released Flash Player. Vista-compatible prerelease versions of Flash Player 9 are available for download ...

problem downloading Adobe flash

Thanks for the information. I tried downloading the prerelease version of Adobe flash, and got a message box that said "To finalize installation, Flash Player must restart all instances of Internet Explorer before clicking Yes. Restart now?" I had no other windows open, clicked "yes", and nothing happened. It still won't download. Do you know what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks for the information. I haven't had luck downloading this prerelease version of Adobe Flash. You said "if you are running 64 bit flash will not for 64 bit explorer you will have to use 32 bit explorer". I am not very computer savvy. Can you tell me what this means and/or how I achieve this. Thanks.

felix8406 will become famous soon enough

You could try lowering IE7 security level. If you do, make sure to bring it back to the same setting after finishing.

I ended up downloading Firefox and successfully downloading Adobe flash from there.

Thanks for the info, but I had already tried that without success. I ended up downloading 32 bit Firefox and successfully downloading Adobe flash from there.
