. Thank you again Znod, Can you explain? 1.)more likely 2.)Significant Difference . Can we say that your system's performance did not change before or after using AWC and your other cleaner which you ran before AWC? Do you have a record of the performances that you have commented on, a record that I could use for comparisons? . |

You are very welcome. Can you explain? 1.)more likely = higher probability 2.)Significant Difference = a difference considered to be "real" because it arises from a statistical test Can we say that your system's performance did not change before or after using AWC and your other cleaner which you ran before AWC? I did not actually repair using Registry Mechanic. I only did a scan. But, right, my performance score did not change after running AWC. Do you have a record of the performances that you have commented on, a record that I could use for comparisons? Yes, my score was 4.6 before and after.

. Score: Reg Mechanic score: 4.6 (date and time) Reg Mechanic + AWC: 4.6 (date and time) . How should I use your data? If I have only AWC installed I would look a for SPR Score before you ran RM. The multiple runs would require that I compare an RM + AWC on my system and that is not likely to happen because I trashed RM some time back because of their upgrade and other support hassels. The RM that I used was a PC Tools product sold by element 5. RM did not reset my system to the state that was set after a run. A reset would demand a rerun. How long have you been using RM? . | I have had RM for a long time, but I have seldomly actually used it. My view is that, unless the registry has a huge number of "problems," there is no compelling reason to "fix" it. It always is possible that the fix will leave things worse than they were to start with.

| I was told in the beginning, pre windows era. when your system gets plugged up, clean and compact the registery. reason 1. everything in the registery to be located during boot... so every item not found where it is inline takes a bit of time.. till it says Not found.. and compacting actually removes some blank spaces.. which also takes time... so by cleaning and compacting, you will boot faster and do all things faster...and since Vista indexes things it really saves time if your registery is clean and compacted.. I average removal of upto 21000 items per week using regcleaners, and have not had one BSOD due to it... Depends if you want to boot like a jet or a biplane... I recommend the use of any of the following: 1. Regvac 4.02 - No problems 2. Free-Winregclean No problems 3. Vista Manager No problems 4. Regcure No problems I have had no problems with these 4. I have not tested the Old RegClean95 which worked very well upto XP SP3.

| My rule was to use the regcleaner anytime I would uninstall a program to clean up old entries before installing a new program of the same kind or a new one and haven't had a problem doing this for years in XP. I am trying to delete a entry in BCdedit and for the life of me I cannot get it to delete the entry using command bcdedit/delete id enter also bcdedit-delete id enter neither one works for me any suggestions. |

| Which entry are you trying to delete from bcdedit. ------------------------------------------------------- If XP and your dual booting... NO way if Vista , then simply remove the bcd. it will default back to XP as only boot, and you can (what every you want with Vista) see: info on repair of bcdedit http://www.vistababble.com/forums/vi....html#post8453 also excellent info here: http://www.vistaclues.com/how-to-edi...registry-file/

. Cleaners seem to make my PC faster. Accelerators (Boosters) ? Testing the "speed" changes and recording the results for comparison remains not clear. It appears that we have all tried the cleaners and are into the Accelerators but are at a loss to communicate the results. . |

| use your system for 3 or 4 days and NO Cleaner, No Defrag. run Passmark performance. save results. use reg cleaners, and defrag , reboot then run the same test... you should then have results for either yes or no... and what accelerators are you using in Vista. Vista is so much faster than XP to start with..
