Hi Friends: I have installed the basic/free version of Tweak VI for Vista. The program does a lot of things. I am just now warming up to it. So, I have done nothing but look at the informtion it provides. The quality and thought behind the program appears to be very good. I am hesitant to use too many things that invisibly affect my system--especially given how short-lived the RC1 restore points are. Though you might like to take a look at Tweak VI and provide thoughts.

| Thanks Josh. Congrats on # 100. I have been throught the program somewhat carefully at this point. What I like the best about the basic version is the relatively quick access to information. I think that I have the mechanical tweaks it offers handled in other ways. And, I think that if one uses the program too much, then facility will be lost with Vista--sort of like the negative effects of using a spell checker or calculator to excess. But, the progaram is so nice I sort of don't want to uninstall it and do a system restore.

| Well, one might forget where things are in Vista and what can be accomplished using its settings alone--which are perfectly adequate for me.

| Hi All: I have become unenamored with Tweak. It was doing things that I did not want it to do. Changing icon sizes, how "Computer" appears, etc. I won't tolerate a program that changes things that I don't want changed. Some of the problem may be that some settings already are selected in Tweak. I might have been able to fix everything, but it wasn't worth my time to do so. So, I uninstalled Tweak and rolled my system back to my "PreTweak" restore point. I am not saying that Tweak is not worthwhile, but it wasn't working out smoothly enough for me the more I used it.
