Thanks for the response Anthony, but those two articles do nothing for me. As far as I am aware at my (again - basic) level, FP has had cascading style sheets since its innovation. XHTMLis not in itself, a lead into any more "amazing" stuff. I am anxious to provide a little more feedback to MS than I have so far been able to, but cannot find much to comment on! Other than that, comparing the two side by side, obviously, being a newer product, Expression offers a few mor styles etc but basically looks like another way for MS to put over a rehashed program - similar to Windows Mail.

Yes i agree its just a front page updated, but what i will say is that it does have far better coding than frontpage, frontpage was a pain for churning out crap and unnecessary code. Thats why I think they have decide to ditch frontpage. Expression does handle things a little better but its nothing to get excited about really, I reallies that frontpage did support CSS but it wasn't really built it to the design mode so designers who cant write in code couldn't really customize much witch defeats the whole object of CSS. Expression is an improvement but its not a patch on Dreamweaver 8 witch is the number one choice for me. It actually does try to steel a few features from Dreamweaver but they are not as good as the versions you find in dreamweaver.... so overall i would say expression is Microsoft trying to make one of its old programs in to a new program making a tidy prefect whilst doing so.

OK. I can see we are in basic agreement here. I too, use Dreamweaver. It's a little more complicated to handle but if you can get there the end result is cleaner and more satisfying. Thanks Anthony, I think this little correspondence has ironed out a few problems on my mind.

They include CSS and XHTML. Heres a discription of them below
One reason I use Dreamweaver regardless of how you want to create your site or in what combination of forms. I've hated Front Page since the first time I used it, and gave it the boot.

i used frontpage when i first started designing websites. and i regret it now all the sites i have written before a creating date were created in Frontpage leaving the code look absolute crap and unneeded. It doesn't give out a professional look when some one views the code of the sites that why i use dreamweaver now because it makes some pretty neat and tide code. Plus once you get your head round dreamwevaer you realize it can do just about anything you want it to. :-)

Untidy code sucks... I have ended up just coding everything from scratch, atleast then I know where stuff has gone wrong.

Dreamweaver was better than frontpage, but this new program sounds good.

Yeah its the only way to be sure if u want 100% clean accurate code. id use a text editor and do it by scratch but i have a bad memory and cant remember all the language thats why i use dreamweaver in code view because it reminds me by letting me select it of a list.

I also like the ability of seeing the created page in IE before I upload it, which is another reason I use Dreamweaver, and a good CCS editor is a must along with Ultra Edit software.
