Does anyone have any experience with Filezilla and the FTP software they offer? I'm in need of new FTP software that will work with Vista, and this is a freeware site that seems like it's been around a while. Thanks for your help! |

This is where FileZilla has a tendency to not close some of these connections properly. As a result you get a "too many connections open" error from the server (more than 8 usually), resulting in a disconnect from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on how long it takes for the server to default them to closed. However I've never had it timeout before transferring several hundred files. I have my own server as well as xxamp on localhost because I have multiple forums and blogs running: mostly for theme and skin developement. Some forums consist of thousands of files which invariably will cause a disconnect with Filezilla. I use CuteFTP now and have no longer have disconnect problems. |
