I have read in other forums that Windows Vista has slow internet connection.
I am using Ultimate 64 Bit with wired and wireless with Draft N Dlink Router.
Mine has always been fast.

Hi AnthonyCook

Yes it comes up to my house underground. Then to a converter. That converts the fiberoptic signal to wired for my telephone. My internet connection is straight ethernet from the converter. It is not converted, just
my phones are. Verizon has said all the telephone custumers will be converted to Fiber optic in the next 5 yrs. So my house next month will be totally Fiber Optic internet, phones, and TV. All connected through the same router.

Actually New Haven is a small country town we are right next to Ft Wayne.
I was one of the first in my addition to get this over a year ago. Will not get rid of it either. A Verizon tech told me they are working with 100 mpbs right now and that there is no limit on speed with Fiber Optic.

AT&T has fiber optic here in San Antonio as well. That's what I'm using, but although the TV broadcasting digital signal is excellent, their faster Internet service is 6.0 Mbps. The good thing though is that anyone can afford DSL as people can get the low end DSL service for US $14.00 at about 1.6 Mbps. That's better than dial-up, or (I don't mean to say bad words) "modem".

Verizon Fios has a base package for $39.99. That has 5000 download speed and 2000 upload speed. I pay $49.99 for 15000 download speed and 2000 upload speed. They Have 30000 download speed but that cost $179.00 a
month.

Budeone, your link did not work as posted, at least on this side. I copy and paste this part to the browser and that worked.
