Well, I have worked with computers since 1987 and have learned quite a bit about using office type software. About three years ago, I was teaching some of my coworkers how to use Microsoft Excel. One of the guys commented about my knowledge of software, to which I replied that I used to build PCs. He said he could understand me knowing about PC hardware, being a PC builder, but he wondered how I got so proficient with the software. One day, as I was in my office typing a memo, the coworker walked in. I asked him to take a sit and told him that I would be right with him. As I was about to finish the memo, he said, “You may know a lot about computers, but you can’t type for sh*&#@”.

So my question is; how many people know about building and troubleshooting PC hardware, but don’t know a thing when it comes to using and office software? And, how many people know the ins and outs of an office software, but can’t type for sh*&#@”?

I think I am moderate at all... no special skills here, but no huge pitfalls either!

I have a general idea of office suites but i ain't not expert.

As for typing i can type well and up my speed a little when needed but i often find i misspell words when typing fast. For example normally i would spell "vista babble" like this but in a rush i may spell it like this "vitsa babel" just because im not taking care. Thats why you will find with most of my posts i write you will see "Edited on such and such".

I'm not a good typist at all. I use two fingers and must maintain an eye on the keyboard.

One of the first thing I do once I installed Vista is prevent the Welcome Center to run at start up, and I hardly use it. I wonder how many people use the Welcome Center and whether or not it's being left to run at start up?

Lol... I used it 3 times.

It's so utterly unuseful!

Like the gadgets
