VistaNoob things are about to get a lot better, Firefox 3 Beta is absolutely RAPID! seriously the new rendering engine is fantastic.

I dont see how going to another browser will make webbrowsing really any faster but I may try FF at Xmas.

As a rule I only use percentages in the width, not the height. I'm not sure if it's proper, but I will link my blog as an example. If the link is afoul of the rules please delete it.

You will note that the window can be reduced to about half your screen width before the scrollbar appears at the bottom of the page. Of course if someone uses it at half width, some images might look a bit tall, but I think it would really rare for anyone to browse that way.

Wrapper width is 98% because I wanted a 2% border around the blog.
Header width is 100%
Each sidebar width is 20%
Main display area has a 22% right/left margins. That gives sidebars the same 2% border that is around the blog.

I tested the skin at browser shots before making it permanent. The display is good in 18 browsers (Windows-7, Linux-7 and MAC-4). As I recall I had to use 1 or 2 fixes for IE5 compatibility.

But I hope you don't feel I was being critical of your good work, because I wasn't. You did a very good job. My suggestion was only because some of us really don't like a scrollbar appearing across the bottom.

no not at all Just that im still a learner and was wondering if using % has its benefits. I see what you mean about the scroll bars so i will play around with % later.

By the way love the blog, your sidebars rule! i have been having trouble with getting a left and a right dues to problems with the float attribute in CSS.
