| Interesting. I have never had a problem with Vista/system restore except on my new HP. Out of the box, system restore wasn't working (didn't relalize it), and I couldn't restore when I needed to. I got it all sorted out though.

| Ahh. Well, first, I noticed that the date was one day off after I installed. I think that affected system restore. Also, I ended up talking with HP support, and they indicated that system restore is not turned on when machines are shipped, but that wasn't true for me. I fixed the date turned system restore off and on, etc., and all is well. The only problem I have with my HP is that it won't connect wirelessly automatically to my home network--as least within a periord of time I am willing to wait. And, in general, the HP Wireless Assistant is slower than Xmas at finding networks. All I have done is update the Assistant. And, actually, my machine used to connect automatically, but not since the update. Originally, it required me to enter my passkey a few times before it started connecting automatically. Maybe it will start doing so again soon. Have you had this issue?

| No, for what ever reason it does not save network settings. The machine works fine in all other areas. When it goes back to default it cant find the server and I have to change the name back.. reboot and reconnect. Its not hard it just is a pain. For the hours they want to put me through with people I cant even understand I am keeping the machine. |

| Oh well. Thanks. I may call HP support. I'll let you know if I find anything out.
