Just a link for those whom wonder what a Little Kansas Storm can do...
My family history goes back to "They were the people who built the Big Well, and founded this town.." my great grand father was 1 founder, my great grand mothers dad was another founder.. wonder why Great Grand Ma and Great Grand Pa knew each other.." Only 2 buildings were left... 1 the Court House in the very Center of town... and 1 Motel on the very West part of town..the Attached Cafe to the Motel was destroyed...If any of you Remember the Oklahoma City Storm.. the manager of that City said "This City was DESTROYED, OK City was only Damaged.."

Info: In the center of town about 1 block west of the Court House was the Worlds Largest Hand Dug Well... in the small building attached which contained History and housed the World's Largest Palisade Meteorite (which is missing) well over 1,000 lbs.

In June '98 an in-air tornado came over our house. I remember hearing the "freight train" and looking outside seeing the rain going sideways. I got everyone into the hall and we heard all kinds of crashing sounds outside. When it was over I went outside and saw four trees down in the yard. One was one of two old oaks in the front yard (Katrina got the other one when it came through). I also noticed several shingles missing off the roof so I had to get up there and cover what I could with tarp while it was still raining and lightning.

Since then I cannot sleep when it storms at night. I keep listening for the "freight train" to return.

Good grief, I finally saw video of what was left of Greensburg this morning. Nothing but rubble and leafless trees remain, 95% of the town destroyed. It reminds me of pictures of the Gulf Coast after Katrina I really feel for those people there.
