Playing with Reg and UAC

Some folks might like this and some WILL NOT.
Vista Ultimate has a default setting for the UAC at:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System]
"ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin"=dword:2

I have changed to 1 : when something need to run it, it pops up my admin account, asks for password. click OK and it goes. Much nicer that Are you sure.
If you do not want to be ask... change to 0.
I love the popup you might also...

This is playing with the Registry... so use at your own risk...
here are the 3 versions - simply copy and save as
1. UAC-dafault,
Quote:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System]
"ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin"=dword:00000002
2. UAC password,
Quote:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System]
"ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin"=dword:00000001
3. UAC- Do It
Quote:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System]
"ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin"=dword:00000000
If you want to change via the registry here is the link.

Are you sure-default
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System]
"ConsentPromptBehaviorUser"=dword:00000002

password
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System]
"ConsentPromptBehaviorUser"=dword:00000001
Just do it:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System]
"ConsentPromptBehaviorUser"=dword:00000000

I have had 100% good results with the 3 different versions... I just like password option
Enjoy - remember modifying the registry can be dangerous...
