Hi Everybody, I have Windows XP and Windows Vista on the same machine configured as a dual boot. Now, I installed certain softwares in Windows XP mode which are Vista compatible. Now, when I log on to Windows Vista mode, am unable to work on the software which I installed in Windows XP mode. Does this mean that I have to install the same software twice? Please advice.

Yes, each piece of software must be installed on both operating system. Although you have both OS installed on the same PC, they work independently of each other and must have control of their own applications.

Some programs might work if you install them once but most are resource intensive, as far as I know Mozilla Firefox can be installed on one partition and be used on both but generally you need to install twice. My advice would be to install apps that don't work with Windows Vista on your XP partition and Vista compatible apps on Vista Partition.
