I'm soon getting Sky Broadband installed up at my Dad's flat. If you have Sky Broadband, could you please comment on realibity, etc. Another thing, do they offer fibre optic cable or does it have to be through the phone line?

| I checked out what service I can get in my area and I can get the full 16mb but its a shame it has to be through the phone line. Thanks Guys.

| But that shouldn't be an issue. Just make sure the filters are install for each phone device and you won't even notice you are surfing through the telephone wire. The only thing I didn't like about DSL was that it require the customer to have telephone service through a land line. I don't know if that will be your case, but my current provider, AT&T, went to fiber optic, so I won't need a land line. I'm using VOIP phone service and my current VOIP service contract came up to about $8.00US a month with unlimited long distance throughout the US and Canada. That's a heck of a lot cheaper than regular phone service. |

| No, 16mb is possible but because it is through a phone line I probably won't get that speed, just really depends how far away I am from the phone exchange. Hopefully not far...

| Here in the US, DSL has almost catch up with cable in most metropolitan areas. But like Wiggles mentioned, it depends how far the house is located in reference to the central hub. Cable does offer higher speed, but at premium prices. |
