| Hi am new to this site I hope am in the right place . I have bee trying to turn off Network discovery /file shareing but it wont let me click on it its gray out all the info i find on the net thells me to just click the arrow and click off i know that much i just cant get it to turn off or on its gray . any one know how to enable this so i can turn off and on? this gos for file shareing /public file shareing and Network discovery could realy use some help thanks. |

| Many pirated versions have this disabled by (THERE DEFAULT) you might try to correct by this: Control panel (set to classic view) Administration tools computer management services and applications services SSPD set to automatic- this is for Network Discovery. Reboot after setting.. then check to see if it is still GREYED out. ------------------------------------------------------------- The MS site recommends you use "Repair" via the DVD disk to insure your install was correct. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

| Try enabling Windows Firewall exception for network discovery.
