Question Blackcomb, Whistler, Vienna, Neptune, Cairo or

I agree with your statement.. in General.

Reference: Vienna? Windows after Vista!
We had Blackcomb in "Whistler Days".

from From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Windows 7 (formerly codenamed Blackcomb, then Vienna) is a future version of Microsoft Windows. It is expected to be the successor to Windows Vista. Microsoft has confirmed that the planned development time frame is at least three years.[1] According to technology magazine "Smart Computing In Plain English", work on it began immediately following the release of Windows Vista.

Microsoft has refrained from discussing the details about Windows 7 publicly as they focus on the release and marketing of Windows Vista,[2] though some early details of various core operating system features have emerged at developer conferences such as Windows Hardware Engineering Conference in 2006.Contents [hide]

"Longhorn" or "Vista" - Went gold (RTM) on 8 of November 2006. Named after the Longhorn Bar in the Whistler-Blackcomb resort; initially planned as an "interim release" between "Whistler" and "Blackcomb" (which is now "Vienna").

Blackcomb, Vienna is Windows 7
We went from Chicago, Detroit, Nashville, Memphis, (missed Dolly - I was sick)-Windows 97 and finally Windows 98.
We also had a taste of still missing "WinFS" in Whistler.
Really want to get confused. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...soft_codenames

What a list of codenames! I can't help it but when I found that the first version of XP I got was probably code named: "Trainyard", I found it killingly funny. Some of the others are funny(too me) too. Excellent link, thanks for sharing it.
Plus it clearedup my confusion about Longhorn, now to be a server. Same codenames sometimes for different systems. I wondered about that

On the subject of helpful info, in a friendly and non-judgmental tone I totally agree. I was at a place where there was a very insulting and denigrating tone towards "non-technical" people. We are all born "newbies" Technology must be learned,( if we choose to go deep) (no one is born knowing how to format a hard drive.) And I totally respect all levels of knowledge.
