well inturely HAD OFF!

Mega unhappy with Microsoft today!

Recently Microsoft tried to take out a double payment for Xbox Live via my bank account, so naturally my bank thought that was a bit strange and canceled the transactions. Now my Xbox live gamertag that i have had for well over a year and spent endless hours getting achievements and buying Microsoft points on HAS BEEN CANCELED! and according to there Indian help desk idiots its beyond recovery!

This is absolutely terrible! because of there stupid mistake i have lost my gamer tag with over £20's worth of Microsoft points and not to mention a gamer score nearing 14 and a half thousand!!!

When on the phone i lost it big time when they said "sorry your tag is beyond recovery, but could you please give us details of another account to pay the outstanding balance"

They don't understand what i have just lost! My contacts, my Microsoft currency, my xbox live gold subscription, my gamer score, my achievements, my purchased content, my game saves ALL MY WORK AND MONEY GONE!!!

Im so p**sed off! i cant start again because it will take another year and another heap of cash...plus whats to say it wont happen again!!!

They have picked on the wrong guy though coz im taking this to the top i want some compensation! i dont care if i have to get on a plane to Bill Gate's house. They wasted day's of my life and god knows what in expenses.

I'm really sorry to hear about what happened. I can imagine how you feel. MS ha a really callous procedure--deleting all your stuff without so much as a heads up and do you owe us a payment. You could call customer support again and, unfortunately, after telling your story again, ask to speak to a supervisor. Then, when the supervisor does not help, ask how to escalate to the next level.

Best, Z

Angry Damn I'm sorry to hear that..

I'm very sorry to hear that your account is messed up..
I do agree with ZNOD, start low and then ask for their supervisor, then ask for his supervisor ... and on and on...

1. I'm sure your info is still there...
2. MS keeps things forever... some idiot will say its lost .. but really its not, if you can get to the correct person.

Many times a MVP can lead you on the Fast path, I hope you know one.

I was thinking about you idea of getting compensation. I find that companies sometimes are more willing to compensate by giving products or services. I was thinking that you should talk sweetly to everyone and ask for something that is essentially free to MS. I was thinking of asking for the Technet subscription of your choice or a retail box of Vista Ultimate. You could indicate what a big fan of MS you are, which is true (or close enough to being true), and how much the Technet subscription or Vista ultimate would mean to you.

Thanks Snuffy & Znod, Im 100% ringing them back, i will immediately ask for a supervisor and see if they can get me back online, if not im going for some compensation, i will still follow Microsoft after this little fiasco as i guess every company makes mistakes....even if there as huge this in my opinion.

If i get any compensation i think it will be xbox 360 hardware.

Good luck cookie. I can't see why they can't recover it. They should atleat be able to reactivate the account and give you an equivilent ranking/score/cash as before, after all its only data written to a server!

Thanks Crabby, I'm sure its easy to do and my old data is still on the servers because when i login to xbox.com i can still see my tag, just that all the features have been disabled. Even tells me my account still has over 1000 Microsoft points on it which apparently i can get back.

Sure sorry to hear about your trouble with Microsoft. So unfair to be penalized for their mistake!!! I hope you can get it resolved somehow. It is encouraging that you can still see your tag at least. There is no reason for them not re-enabling your account especially when it was them that messed up!!! Good luck, You deserve compensation and are entitled to get your account back.
