Apparently new members are not being validated at all, and that is poor management. If they were I would not be getting porn ads with pictures in my PM inbox.

Totally disgusting, and I will not be a member if it happens again.

I for one was flabbergasted after getting a porn ad in my in box thinking of not visiting this site anymore it is going to the smut mongers. I for one loved this site for a long time and it has been degraded with this kind of material.

I do hope it's a one off, but lets not be too hasty. Mistakes happen and it's what's done about it that matters.

We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.

Please forward any spam PM's to me so I can delete those users. It is very hard to manage PM spammers if we do not get any direct complaints.

It is worth noting that prevention is better than cure. Does the registration procedure have security features designed to deter bots? And would it be viable to add these if not?

I'm really sorry guys, I have been waiting for 'management' to do something as really it is their job. It doesn't look like they have yet, so give the the account name of any bogus PMs and I'll ban them myself.

It's basically all I can do for you at the moment, as my rights do not extend to site maitenance.
