You americans, are darn lucky, us canadians have to deal with going to a thiefing store (Futureshop) that overprice items to much, and Ultamite Vista is $400 CAD, isn't that a thieft.

Guys, where do you get OEM versions, is OEM the Upgrade version, or the full version, and is OEM the version in the nice shiny box, or is OEM version, just a disc, in a plastic bag?

When I first received my Vista Home Premium from Vistababble, my first thought was that I needed it to upgrade to Ultimate. I got it installed and a few days later I sent for the 64-bit version of Home Premium from MS for $10.00 and I fell in love with it. I decided that Home Premium is the way to go for me; I just don't have a need for anything else.

I do have Vista Business which MS was kind enough to sent to me for my participation in one of their programs. I am thinking about trying that on my laptop. My laptop didn't work too well with RTM, but maybe it can work better with the final version.

Cheap = OEM... free = competitions but you will be hard pressed to find one now that Vista is released.

Like Crabby mentioned, the cheapest copies to get is the OEM; as for free, you'll have to find some sweep-stake or something similar and hope to get lucky. But as Crabby said, it's much harder now since Vista has been released.

I did finally installed Vista Business on my laptop last night. I did an upgrade to XP and it took just over an hour...from start until I was ready to enjoy it. So far haven't have any issues and it's working just as fast as XP. My Windows Performance is an unbelievable 1.0; but it works fine.
