hi again, I just want to ask if Microsoft, when releasing a better build, will they put that build in the box, and ship it, or will the boxed version of Vista will always be the same build? One more question, Will there be like updates for lower builds of Vista to make each copy of Windows Vista the same version, if the first question is yes? Thanks again Joseph ![]() EDIT: Wow lots of people agree with my question, and want it anwered ![]() Edit2: 1 more question right now I have 50GB full on my hard drive, out of 80GB, and my memory usage is average 390MB out of my RAM, when it was on XP, now its like doubled, and goes up even, I better upgrade my RAM right?

| I don't think that you need to worry about your RAM usage if you are happy with your computer's performance. RAM usage is heavily influenced by Vista's Superfetch feature--which loads frequently used instructions into RAM. Also, I know that you are using ReadyBoost, and, while Readyboost is not RAM, it facilitates the use of Superfetch--since flash storage can do a better job than a hard drive in carrying out certain instructions. I am not sure about the answer to your first question. But, my best estimate of the truth is that MS won't put new builds in boxes. My problem in answering is that I have never bought more than boxed verison of any operating system. Congratulations in advance on what will be your 25th post. You are making some nice contributions, and we are glad that you are here.

| Hi Joe, i think Microsoft wont release a newer build version. i find the best way to see how Microsoft do things is look at what they have done in the past. Windows XP has been build 2600 since the day it came out BUT having said that i think Microsofts way of updating to newer versions is to bring out service packs, i know the build number doesn't change but it might as well as service packs update a lot of system errors/bugs and even add new features. As for the RAM question it comes down to your view on how you think your computer runs, If you use alot of heavy apps (video editing ect.) it might weigh down on your resources so more RAM is a must. As for your RAM usage question this is quite normal for Vista, in fact its usually more if find my machine uses about 500mb from standing. Congratz on your 25th post, you got some great input on here.
