HaHaHa. That is such great news Snuffy. Yeehhhaaaaaa!!! I am so happy for you. The KU Med report is super duper. And, I am really glad you are celebrating with the Bill Gates model. Boy do I feel good, and I'll bet you feel way better.

On the question I asked above, I once more called MS pre-sales and licensing. They could not answer so they referred me to the large-volume pre-sales and licensing area. They could not answer my question so they referred me back to the pre-sales and licensing department.

The only think I learned is that, yes, one who is making modifications to an existing computer falls under the refurbisher category in general, but, as indicated, no one knows when an individual crosses over the line into being a refurbisher.

I am rethinking sending my OEM back. I know I am going to get a really hot graphics card for my desktop. So, I may just order it now and keep the OEM Vista. This approach is consistent with the older buy a piece of hardware and an OEM operating system, and you are good to go. Any thoughts???

If you are running Windows XP, you can install SP2 for more in-place installation options if you have not already done so. If you are running Windows 2000, you must install SP4 to upgrade to Windows Vista
What if you do not have SP2 installed or SP4...your a Pirate

PS: Im not 100% sure yet, but the only difference in OEM and Retail is the "install KEY"...

I don't think that there is a differnce other than possibly the general forms of the keys.

Smile Suprise- Suprise it Arrived 08076/25000

My Signature copy arrived in the mail this morning...
It does contain both versions 32 and 64 bit... Both have the same "KEY"
The manual states use either Upgrade or Clean Install.

felix8406 will become famous soon enough

Nice picture. If I understand correctly, you were one of the 20,000 who were lucky enough to get Bill's signed copy of Vista? Either way, I sure want you to enjoy it to the fullest.
