..well, I finally sprung for a nice shiney new notebook computer with Vista Premium on it. I had been poking along on my old pc with its 1.5 rating for Vista; this one is at 4.5! Woo-hooo!

Anyway, I can't find the area where I set the wireless connection to automatically connect when the OS boots up. Instead I have to click the "connect to" icon and wait each time for the connection to be made.

Can someone here tell me where that configuration feature is so I don't have to do it every time?

When you connect, you should see the option to "save this network"--which should solve your problem.

..I had been looking around in properties, etc and even
in Control Panel; but you're right, the feature to enable
"Connect automatically whenever this network is in
range" is in the applet that comes up when I click the
notification area icon.. I had to right-click the correct
line.
