| Is anyone here running Works 9.0 on a Vista Home Premium system with only 1 gig of RAM? I just went out and bought it and found that it asks for 1.5 gigs of RAM to run in Vista Home Premium or Ultimate (and only 256 to run in XP). To me 1.5 gigs of RAM seems excessive. It never occurred to me to check the box as I was sure my system could run it. I like the Works 6.o suite that came in my first PC, and wanted a copy for my Vista machine, running Home Premium with 1 GB of RAM. Will I have to install more RAM just to run Works? |

| Even the HD space is almost double if installed alongside Vista. Can't tell you why though.

| Yeah I noticed that too. Strange... debating whether to install it on my Media Center or my Vista computer. I bought it for Vista specifically though as I have Office 2003 on my Media Center laptop. |

| i doubt Works is more heavy than Office, i think they just put high-specs on the box to cover there backs sometimes. i mean if stuff like Crysis can run on 1gb of RAM i don't see why Works should struggle. |

| If 1GB of memory runs Office 2007 on a Home Premium system, Works should run OK on mine then too. Thanks for getting back to me guys. maybe it is the greeting card feature or some of the other graphics type functions, that are the memory hogs, and yeah maybe Microsoft is just covering themselves. I will go ahead and install it. (I can't believe a word processor needs 1.5 GB of RAM). We'll see how it goes. |

| Those requirements from MS, when it comes to Works 9.0, are a bunch of bull. You can run Vista, which is a very large OS, with 512MB (though a little slow) but need over 1G to run a small program that has basically three main applications. Something is not right.

| I agree but I only posted what MS said was the specs for Works 9.0, so apparently he does not have enough memory... or so it seems. So he can either drop to Vista Basic, or use XP, or see it it works with AERO disabled... and Basic (If I remember) does not have AERO...worth a try... My lotus switches of AERO so that it can run...
