Wink (x64) Windows Vista Official Direct Download Links

edited to remove illegal distribution site info.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
post for information only - This is the exact Original Msg ...BUT ALL LINKS REMOVED.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
64-bit (x64) Windows Vista Official Direct Download Links
64-bit (x64) Windows Vista does not included in the retail package CD/DVD media by default, except Windows Vista Ultimate edition software DVD that packaged with both 32-bit and 64-bit code. Vista 64-bit software media must be ordered online, incurring a shipping and handling fee.
But similar to Vista 32-bit (x86) edition, Microsoft does provide official download links for 64-bit edition of Windows Vista through its delivery partner Digital River Inc which handles sales for Windows Marketplace. So there is no need to afraid of infecting spyware, adware, virus or Trojan when downloading from BitTorrent or P2P networks, and can have assurance and guarantee that the downloaded copy of Vista is clean, original, not modified, not changed, untouched and not subjected to fake copy.

Direct Download Links for x64 Windows Vista

install.wim
boot.wim
X13-49121.exe

The downloaded files is in .WIM extension, a Windows Imaging Format Archive. By executing X13-49121.exe, users can run setup to install Vista 64-bit edition. To burn the 64-bit Vista code to DVD, here’s the guide to convert the .WIN files and make bootable .ISO DVD image. Just change the X13-49120.exe (for 32bit Vista) to X13-49121.exe will do.

Note that the downloaded 64-bit Vista code can be activated with retail product key. For OEM edition of Vista product key, which printed on a COA sticker on your laptop, notebook or desktop computer from brands such as Acer, Asus, HP, Lenovo, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Sony, Dell, LG and etc, usually only 32-bit or 64-bit Vista is provided on request. You will need to contact the manufacturer for conversion from 32-bit to 64-bit Vista, although the chance to get any help is slim.

If you want to download 32-bit edition of Vista, here’s the direct download links for x86 Vista.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you need a NEW GOOD COPY..call MS give them your LEGIT KEY... and they will ship you a DVD and you will pay only Shipping and Handling.. unless you ask the "TECH for the Official Download Site - URL" where as you can download and then Burn your own DVD.

I don't understand the leaked part on the link you gave. Why would Digital River host leaked files. Help me here?

Digital River hosts many different Major Manufactures with their software.

Digital River allows resume from broken downloads, which takes lots of pressure off the major sites... the price they get for a DL runs from 2.9% + $1.00 to 6.9% + $1.00. it just depends on the Major Manufacture and the type of Software...

Yes, but what about the part about "leaked" Vista files.

It seems that these links bypass the PAY portion, and let you directly start the download. Then if you download all 3 files, this lets you make a bootable DVD.. where as normally you only get the install portion. or install.wim
you understand what the boot.wim is and the x-portions merges it all together.

I would assume that now you can DL a full RTM just like from MS store. and NOT pay for it... since you do not get a KEY.

That's seems to be the answer. Why would Digital River let this situation persist? i.e., letting people bypass the normal procedures for getting a copy of Vista.

Question

Quote:
Now the direct download links to the Windows Vista files purchased online have been leaked.
This is the same place that I downloaded my original copy of Vista Retail RTM.
I also assume that many people get a slightly different link from the MS Store. which run thru Digital River and that is where you enter the "Special Code" sent via EMail from MS.. and once you enter that code, redirects you to the appropiate DL site.. My $50.00 Key was for Upgrade Version.

The codes I have tested-posted does not ask for any Special Code it just directly goes to the Download site...

I see. Well, I am thinking that we should not advocate use of these files. Right?

Question

They are 100% legal.
They would make an excellent backup.
They are worthless unless you have a LEGIT KEY to install with.
They have NO CRAP WARE from any OEM Manufacture included with them.
They are what you would Download if you purchased a link from the Microsoft Store.

I offered the links for those folks who have a Legit copy of Vista installed on there "system" and say... I do not have a RESTORE DISK...
Now they can have a Legit 100% x86 or x64 RESTORE RTM Disk.

It is not stealing, and again they are worthless unless the person has a "Legit Key" to use....
If Admin and Mods consider this post ill advised... I will edit and remove..
I do not condone Piracy.

They are not legal if they are leaked. Also, using them circumvents Microsoft's procedures for obtaining copies. Something can't be "legal" if leaked. For one thing, the site doing the illegal distribution is not authorized by MS to do any distribution.
