Now that vista has been released to the public id like to hear your thoughts on Vista.. also Ant this might be some good info for your new website your working on. Heres what i think: (1= bad 10= very good)
Explaination of my ratings: Performace: Vista is about the same as XP when it comes to performace.. its now slower than XP and Vista is not faster than XP. All my games still play with the same frame rates as i got in XP Visuals: Now we all know that Vista looks much better than XP. So this is a no-brainer for the score i give it Security: Security in Vista is also a lot better than it was in XP. After installing XP and then going on the net without any antivirus installed or spyware scanning tools my pc would be dead in a few hours BUT in Vista this was not a problem. Ease Of Use: Vista is so much easier to use than XP. The new start menu lets me find programs AND files on my pc much quicker. The sidebar gives at-a-glance info on your system, the weather, anything! Theres a search box in every window so you can always find what you need. Addons/Utilities: The backup tool in XP was ok but there was a major lack of function with it. In Vista there are a lot more options availble with the built in backup utility and thats just an example. But you will find things like this all over Vista but not in XP Overall: Well so far i think Vista is the best OS EVER made. People go on about Mac but can you play your games on a Mac? I think not as almost ALL games are made for the Windows/PC. My overall score for Vista is: 9/10 (4/10 - XP) Why only 9? Well.. Vista is good but not that good! Theres still the odd thing or program that wont work with Vista yet. Hope this helps anyone thats thinking of buying Vista decide if they will upgrade to Vista or not but i hope you do! |

Here's my opinion, but keep in mind that I have yet to install the final version of Vista.
1. Performance wise, I think Superfecth will allow Vista's performance to become better with time. 2. Visual...no brainer there, Vista looks good, period. 3. Security, like you mentioned, security in Vista has been increased, XP had its bad moments, but it did get better. 4. Ease of Use: Vista is much easier to navigate and the search box (Star > Start Search box) it is just perfect. No need to use Run command either. 5. Addons/Utilities: Depends on the edition of Vista that's installed. For Ultimate, the addons are plenty and useful.
